When the Money Gets Tight!- Eating Out When You Can Hardly Afford it.
In recent years, Warsaw has become increasingly popular among tourists and locals alike, making it a bustling hub of culture, art, and nightlife. While this influx of visitors has led to significant economic growth, it has also driven up prices across the board, including the cost of living and entertainment. Many residents have found themselves facing financial challenges, yet the desire to socialize and experience all that Warsaw has to offer remains strong. As such, finding affordable options for dining out becomes essential. Luckily, there are plenty of hidden gems scattered throughout the city that offer exceptional quality at budget-friendly prices. These are the types of establishments that my family relies on when we need to keep an eye on our finances while still enjoying delicious food and lively atmospheres. With these trusty venues in our arsenal, we never have to sacrifice taste or ambiance for the sake of saving money!
1. KURA- Nowolipki 1
Looking to enjoy a feast without breaking the bank? Look no further! Kid friendly dishes with a funky atmosphere. Fancy a nice craft beer on tap? They got you. I recommend the lunches (11-16) which change every week. Combos start at €7. Every combo can be done up with a side of home cooked/cut Belgian spuds and multiple sauces that will amaze. What's not to like?
2. Pyzy Flaki Gorace- ul. Podwale 5
Get ready to be stuffed. Traditional Polish food at budget prices. Noodles in a Jar? Herring? Pork leg? Why not. Dishes start and pretty much finish at €4.50. The "Meduza Chrzanowa z Ozorem" is a game changer for anyone who has a hangover.
3. Sushi Kado- Kasprzaka 31
It's Sushi, not rocket science. A sushi meal for 2 that will run you €20. I see no problems here, just decent sushi. Simple.
4. Same Krafty 10 Ul. Nowomiejska
Pizza, burgers and some of the best beer taps in the city. Avoid on a Friday/Saturday as it can get rather busy and the layout is rather tight.
5. SLA Warsaw Świętokrzyska 3
Shangri-La or "SLA Warsaw" is definitely a palm tree filled experience to be had. Foodwise your wallet won't go home empty with nibbles starting at €8 . You might though have to order more than one plate, as they do run some what small. Sometimes size does matter I guess. Reservations are a must of Friday and Saturday nights. Steps away from Nowy swiat Uniwersytet metro stop.
6. Vege Miasto Solidarnosci 60a
A ridiculously good veterinarian/vegan meal for 2 for under €20. They also do incredible deserts if tofu and buckwheat just aren't your thing. Rather limited seating for groups of 4. Lunch is a steal at €7.50 and very tasty (13-16). We like the seasonal garden.
7. Zapiexy Luxusowe Widok 19
I don't want to tell you how to live your life, but if you are not here at 2 a.m on a Friday night tossing back a massive zapiekanka then we are not friends. Prices start at €3 for a full stomach after a night out. Steps away from Centrum metro station. Vegan options are extremely limited and may not exist when you visit, but do ask.
8. Gastro Garaż - Radna 12
Burgers & fries galore for a very reasonable price. The truffle fries are the bomb. Steps away from the Centrum Nauki Kopernik metro.
