Prasowy Bar Mleczny - Marszałkowska 10/16
The Polish Milk Bar. A throwback to the days when life in Warsaw was a bit more run down than nowadays. When the streets weren't so clean and getting beat up because you looked funny were the everyday. Sadly those days are gone. Looking back towards those times Prasowy Milk Bar is a dying breed. Cheap as all hell and tasty as your Granny's kitchen. Prasowy serves up fair that will fill any man or women with warm goodness.
The food is like in any milk bar, served quickly and at affordable prices and most of all its tasty. The cold soup is well seasoned, be careful, because it is quite sweet. The Spinach pancakes have a nice taste, but vegetables aren't really my thing. Poles tend to cook them until all the flavour goes out the window. Interesting cutlets with mushroom sauce oh my. Lots of room to sit. There are many items on the menu, so there is something for everyone. If you're vegan I would go for the boiled Potato dumplings. They taste like Grandma made them.
The menu and prices changes daily based on availability. 20 euros will get you a meal for four. Unbeatable in Warsaw.
The only downside: we found the pancakes were too fried and slightly burnt maybe even? Also, don't expect the staff to speak English, but your fellow customers may help you out. Lastly, it's only open to 8 p.m., so no late night feasting sadly.
